Stepping out of his 3-dimensional comfort zone, artist Peter Gibbons brings a graphic contribution, evoking the potential simiplicity of communication through the written word. Raised on the the island of Oahu, Peter received his BFA from University of California Santa Cruz which included a semester abroad in Europe. After spending some years as an organic farmer, Peter began a career in the museum industry where he remains a core member of a team of fabricators at Academy Studios in Northern California. As team leader of both international and domestic projects, Peter handles everything from scale models and armature construction to sculpting and finish work. His credits include whales, mammoths and dinosaurs in the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, International Wetlands Park in Hong Kong and Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans, among many, many others.
