Scott J Wakefield

This lively narrative painting is by artist Scott J. Wakefield. Since graduating from Art Center College of Design in 2003, Scott has worked as a freelance illustrator serving national children’s magazines and major publishers such as Spider Magazine, Highlights, Scholastic, and McGraw Hill. Versatile with nearly any medium, Scott’s body of work includes images done in both traditional and digital media. Having recently completed his MFA in Illustration from Utah State University, Scott is also an instructor of illustration at the Art Institute of Salt Lake City in Utah. Enjoying the creative process of picture book illustration and with it the ability to engage and inspire his viewers, Scott illustrated and recently self-published his first children's picture book titled Woodchuck Chuck, a story about what little woodchucks do when they can't chuck wood.
